Lady Rocks dominate Greenwood

WESTFIELD – The Lady Rocks hosted Greenwood on Tuesday night and came away with a dominating 54-23 win. The most points the Lady Rocks surrendered in a quarter was eight in the second.

Westfield came out of the gate and took control of the game from the opening tip. They managed to hold a 15-4 lead after the first quarter and at halftime continued to lead by double-digits by a score of 22-12.

The second half was more of the same story for the Lady Rocks as they continued to dominate the game. A 19-7 third quarter followed by a 13-4 fourth allowed the Rocks to be able to cruise to another win.

Ava Henson ended the game as the leading scorer for the Rocks, finishing with 17 points and six rebounds. Alyssa Crockett recorded a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds in the win.

Brooklyn Stubblefield ended with ten points to lead Greenwood.

The win for the Lady Rocks improves their record to 13-7 on the season (3-2 HCC). They will return to the court on Friday night as they host No. 5 Hamilton Southeastern (16-2).

Golden Eagles fall to Circle City foe Roncalli

The Lady Golden Eagles hosted Circle City Conference opponent the Roncalli Rebels on Tuesday night and were defeated 59-45.

In the first half the Golden Eagles kept the game very close. After the opening quarter, the held a 19-18 lead. At the half it was Roncalli who held the one-point lead as they took a 28-27 advantage into the locker room.

As the second half got under way, the Rebels offense picked up the pace and started to take control of the game. A 17-10 third quarter saw the Golden Eagles fall behind 45-37 entering the final quarter. The fourth quarter saw the Rebels start to put the game away as the Golden Eagles just weren’t able to match the Rebels scoring.

The loss for the Golden Eagles drops their record to 5-11 (0-4 CCC) on the season. They will return to action on Friday night as they travel to take on Lafayette Jeff (4-12).

Huskies pick up conference win vs Western

ARCADIA – The Hamilton Heights Lady Huskies hosted Hoosier Conference opponent Western on Tuesday and came away with a dominate 57-33 win.

The Huskies came out and held a 14-9 lead after the opening quarter. The offense continued to shoot the ball well in the second as they added in 20 more points to take a 34-21 lead at the half. The Panthers were able to hold the Huskies in check in the third by allowing just eight points. However their offense still couldn’t put a dent in the Huskies lead. In the fourth the Lady Huskies shut the door on the Panthers with a 15-3 final quarter to cruise to the win.

Bayleigh Runner ended with 22 points to lead the Huskies in the win. Payton Dissett added in 14, and Jillian Osswald rounded out the double-digit scoring for the Huskies with ten.

The win improves the team’s record to 10-10 (2-1 Hoosier Conference) on the season. The Lady Huskies will be back in action on Saturday as the host Tipton (10-7).
