A matchup between two highly ranked teams came down to the very end.

The University Trailblazers got the better of the Tindley Tigers on Friday night with some heroics from a senior.

With 14 second remaining in the fourth quarter, David Howard buried a 3-pointer to give the Trailblazers a 48-46 victory.

University led for just 59 seconds all game at 2-0, at 28-26 early in third quarter and for the final 14 seconds. Howard finished with a team-high 15 points on 6-of-10 from the field. he also made three of the Trailblazers four shots from behind the arc. Foster Flamion added 10 points, Zack Hodgin had eight and Josh Watson scored seven.

Tindley led 45-37 with 4:33 left in the game, but University locked down on defense to help spark the comeback

Purdue signee Eric Hunter scored a game-high 22 to lead Tindley, who entered the contest ranked No. 1 in Class 1A. University came in ranked No. 5. in the Classs 1A Ap Poll.

University returns to the hardwood on Jan. 12, when they travel to Indianapolis to take on Cardinal Ritter.
