It's hard to find a player among Hamilton County's smaller schools that was more valuable to his team than Sheridan's Austin Hoover. Hoover did it all for the Blackhawks, including leading them to their first win in a sectional game in nearly a decade. He was voted Times/Hamilton County Sports Daily Small School Baseball Player of the Year.

Hoover hit .509 this season for the Blackhawks and was also their everyday catcher. He led the team in RBIs with 22 and doubled eight times to go with one triple and one home run. He also led the team in stolen bases (16) and wins (5-4 record).
On the mound he was a force, boasting an ERA of 2.12 and four complete games. A junior, Hoover has another year to develop and get even better.
Hoover had some company on his squad this season as well. Teammates and All-County selections Jordan Kyriakopoulos and Nate Pflugh were named honorable mention All-State in 2A.
