Sheridan ended its regular season with a nail-biting loss at Frankfort Friday night.

Senior Ange Gnamkey led the Blackhawks in scoring with 20 points, but it wasn’t enough as the Eagles held on late for a 56-54 win.

Frankton led 21-19 after one and extended its advantage to 34-30 at the half. Sheridan locked down in the third quarter, outscoring Frankton 12-8, to lock the score at 42 heading into the final stanza.

Kayden Key finished with a game-high 25 points for Frankton (20-3). The junior made 8-of-12 from the field.

Sheridan senior Austin Hunter joined Gnamkey in double-figures with 15 points, including four 3-pointers. The Blackhawks shot 5-of-17 from behind the arc as a team and 23-of-50 overall.

Junior Jesse Kolb led Sheridan on the glass with 11 rebounds. Gnamkey pulled down eight boards.

Sheridan (11) will have to wait to find out who it plays next. The Blackhawks earned a bye in Class 2A Sectional 40 at Lapel and will play the winner between Monroe Central and Frankton.
