The Sheridan Lady Blackhawks lost a 72-66 heartbreaker in overtime on the road against the Kokomo Wildkats on Tuesday night.

Audrey Reed finished with 37 points, but it wasn’t enough to give Sheridan its seventh straight win.

The Blackhawks jumped out to a 13-12 lead after the first quarter, but a 17-16 Wildkat advantage in the second had the score knotted going into the locker room.

Both teams scored 15 in the third and 16 in the fourth to force an overtime period. Kokomo doubled up on Sheridan, 12-6, in OT to hand the Blackhawks their first loss since Dec. 12 against Clinton Prairie.

Reed scored her 37 on an efficient 14-of-22 from the field. She also connected on two of the Blackhawks’ seven 3-pointers and made 7-of-13 from the foul line. Sheridan shot 24-of-49 (48 percent) from the floor as a team and 11-of-24 from the charity stripe.

Jillian O’Flaherty finished second on Sheridan with nine points, including getting three shots to fall from behind the arc. Nixon Williams and Allie Delph both scored sevens points. Williams led the Blackhawks with 10 rebounds - Reed pulled in nine boards and led Sheridan with three assists.

Sheridan (13-5) returns to action Thursday when they travel to face McCutcheon.
