The Sheridan Lady Blackhawks’ season came to an end Friday night against the Monroe Central Golden Bears in the Class 2A Sectonal 40 semifinals.

The Golden Bears used a strong first half to put some early separation on the scoreboard in route to a 69-37 win.

Audrey Reed scored a team-high 15 points for Sheridan on 6-of-11 shooting.

Monroe Central doubled up Sheridan in the first and led 16-8 after the quarter. The Blackhawks only managed to score six points in the second and trailed 31-14 at the half.

Sheridan had its highest scoring quarter in the third with 19, but Monroe entrap was able to match Sheridan’s output. The Golden Bears finished the game on a 17-4 run.

Nixon Williams was Sheridan’s second-leading scorer with nine points. Allie Delph chipped in with four. Williams led the Blackhawks on the glass with five rebounds.

Sheridan finishes the year 14-9.
