The Sheridan boys basketball team lost by double-digits at home against Lapel on Friday night.

Nicholas Burnell dropped 19 points on 7-of-14 from the floor the Blackhawks, but it wasn’t enough as the the Bulldogs won 62-49.

Lapel outscored Sheridan in every quarter and used a 12-4 second quarter to take a 29-18 lead at the half. The Blackhawks shot 18-of-47 from the floor as a team. Junior Caleb Duke finished second on Sheridan with 14 points, which included two of the Blackhawks’ four makes from behind the arc.

Drake Delph and Ange Gnamkey both grabbed four rebounds to lead Sheridan.

The Blackhawks fall to 5-3 on the season. They next play the Tri-Central Trojans at 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 5.
