The Sheridan Blackhawks girls' basketball team was dealt its first loss of the season by Tri-West Hendricks on Tuesday evening by a score of 56-44.

After jumping out to a 30-22 lead at halftime, the Blackhawks slowed down in the second half, which gave the Bruins enough time to rally back.

The Blackhawks fell behind after a slow third quarter where they scored just five points while Tri-West was able to put up 19 before holding the Blackhawks to nine points in the fourth quarter.

A strong outing from Audry Reed helped fuel the team to its early lead. Reed led the Blackhawks with 19 points. Joining her in double figures was Brittany Welch with 10.

The Blackhawks are now 3-1 on the season and will head to Elwood on Saturday. The game is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m.
