The school board has approved former Warren Central High School coach Garrett Winegar as the new varsity coach for the Tigers boys basketball program.
Winegar compiled an 18-6 won-lost record while finishing as a sectional runner-up in his lone season as Warren Central’s head coach after spending three seasons as an assistant in the Warriors’ program.
He replaces Matt Moore, who spent three seasons at FHS and left after this past season to take the Warsaw job.
Winegar was an assistant to varsity coach Criss Beyers when the Warriors won the Class 4A state championship with a perfect 32-0 record in the 2017-18 season.
