CARMEL – The Westfield Lady Rocks traveled to take on the Carmel Greyhounds on Monday night. Coming in the matchup between the two schools, both teams had a combined total of 26 wins on the season so fans expected to see a competitive match. 

That game lived up to the hype as The Greyhounds ultimately came out victorious, but the Lady Rocks made the Greyhounds work for every single point as Carmel walked away with a 29-27, 29-27, and 25-17 sweep over Westfield. 

Junior Kenzie Daffinee led the team with 16 kills and four service aces, Peighton Isley anchored the defense with 14 digs and Katie Sweet ended the night with three blocks. The Rocks are back in action Wednesday night at home vs Hamilton Southeastern as their record fell to 12-3 on the season. 

For the Greyhounds, they were led by Macarty McQueen with 11 kills, four aces, and six digs on the night. Anne Lesure contributed nine kills, 19 assists, ten digs. Gabby Smith ended her night tallying seven kills and four blocks while Ella Bostic finished with 18 Assists, an ace, and five digs. The win improves the Greyhounds record to 15-7 on the season. The team will return to action on Tuesday night as they will travel to Lawrence North. 

Millers fall to tough Yorktown squad

The Noblesville Millers lost to the Yorktown Tigers 3-0 on Monday night at Noblesville High School 

In the loss Lexie Almodovar had nine digs, six kills, and three assists. Riley Branch contributed nine assists while Rose Crist had six kills. Abby Johnson had four digs, Allison Parks had three digs, and Sydney Sparks had two digs. Ella Peter added two kills, with Anna Kiser adding a kill and a block. Bella Hines had one ace, and Diana Cox rounded out the box score with one dig.

The loss drops the Millers record to 5-9 on the season. TheMillers travel to Hamilton County opponent Hamilton Heights on Tuesday.

Tipton makes quick work of Blackhawks

TIPTON – The Lady Blackhawks traveled to Tipton High School on Monday night and was defeated in three quick sets by a final score of 25-4, 25-17, and 25-10. 

Taylor Bates had an ace and five assists for the Blackhawks. Lillie Dickerson and Becca Merritt had three kills apiece while Cheyenne Brooks had three solo blocks. Dickerson and Allie Delph had rounded out the box score with five digs a piece.

The loss drops the Lady Blackhawks record to 4-14 on the season and they will return to action on Tuesday night as they will travel to Clinton Prairie. 

Royals defeat Pendleton Heights in straight sets

PENDLETON - The Lady Royals traveled to Pendleton Heights on Monday night and won in straight sets 25-20, 25-16, 25-10 to improve to 10-3.

The Royals were led by Delaney Garner with 14 kills. Abby Weber and Grace Hunter each had 11 kills. Defensively the Royals were led by Carly Mills and Lillian Leiner each with 15 digs. 

The win improves the Royals record to 10-3 on the season. The Royals travel to Westfield for another HCC match Wednesday.
