The Noblesville varsity baseball team bounced back from a 5-3 day-game loss to Farragut on Friday with a 16-1 pounding of Bearden in the Millers’ second game of the day.

Noblesville scored in all five innings the teams played, opening the game with three runs in the first inning and following with six in the second, four in the third, two in the fourth and one in the fifth. The Bulldogs scored their lone run in the second inning.

Junior Reese Sharp had six RBIs and three runs on a pair of homers for the Millers, who moved to 2-1 on the season. Senior Jacob Thieman knocked in three runs and scored a pair of runs on a home run, and sophomore Cooper Miles and junior Zac Tuinei both had two RBIs, with Tuinei’s RBI coming on a homer. Noblesville managed 10 hits as a team.

Senior Kade Gorman earned the win on the mound for the Millers, pitching four innings of four-hit baseball. Gorman allowed four hits and had five strikeout to just one walk. Fellow senior Ryan Plummer pitched one inning and didn’t allow a hit.

Noblesville continues its Tennessee trip today with a doubleheader against Maryville and Christian Academy of Knoxville.
