The Fishers Tigers lost Saturday night’s boys basketball matchup at Lawrence North 77 - 68 in overtime, but there were still several positives to build on in defeat.

Junior Terry Hicks scored 20 points to lead the Tigers, who had four players finish in double figures.

The Tigers found themselves playing from behind quickly, as the Wildcats grabbed a 13-9 edge after the first quarter. Lawrence North extended its lead by five in the second and took a 31-22 advantage into the locker room.

Fishers wasn’t going to go down without a fight, though. The Tigers, who shot 27-of-46 (59 percent) from the field as a team, used a balanced offensive attack to claw back into the game in the third. The Tigers outscored the Wildcats 24-17 in the quarter to cut the score to two at 48-46 heading into the fourth.

Senior Jeremy Szilagyi shot 6-of-9 from the floor for the game and finished second on Fishers with 19 points. Hicks scored his 20 on 9-of-13 shooting and connecting on both of his free throw attempts. Juniors Josiah Matthews,15, and Willie Jackson, 10, rounded out the Tigers double-figure scorers.

The Tigers were able to tie the Wildcats at the end of regulation, 61-61, taking the game to overtime. In the extra period, Jackson and senior Jordan Jones both fouled out and Lawrence North held on for the nine-point win.

Matthews and Jackson both pulled down five rebounds to lead Fishers on the glass. The Tigers had 23 rebounds, including six offensive boards, as a team. Szilagyi and senior Brendan Russom grabbed four rebounds each.

The Tigers have alternated wins and losses over their last four games, and will look to keep that trend going in their next contest.
