The Fishers boys basketball team evened its record at 4-4 on Thursday night with a 62-56 on the road against Muncie Central.

The Tigers Willie Jackson led the team in scoring with 19 points, and helped fend off a Bearcat run in the second half.

Fishers jumped out to an 18-6 led at the end of the first quarter and led at the half 37-19. Muncie Central cut the lead to 12 points in the third and the score heading to the game’s final quarter was 46-34. The game was tied at 54 with 2 minutes left in the fourth, but the Tigers were able to take control of the contest in the game’s final closing minutes.

Luke Hernandez finished with 10 for the Tigers, and Jordan Jones and Jeremy Szilagyi both scored nine. The Tigers, 3-4 on the season and 0-2 in conference play, next play the Valparaiso Vikings and the Warsaw Tigers in the Grace College Champions of Character Basketball Classic on Dec. 30. Tip-off for Game 1 is set for 11 a.m., and Game 2 is schemed for 7:45 p.m.
