    Once you enter Exit 61 off I-74 west onto Jeff Gordon Boulevard, you don't have to go too far before being greeted by a sign that reads: Welcome to Pittsboro - "Home of Jeff Gordon.'

    Though Gordon was born in California and raised in rural Pittsboro and graduated from Tri-West High School, you could also say that the Indianapolis Motor Speedway is his second home.
  • Harvick, Gordon Side-By-Side in Front Row for Brickyard 400
    Kevin Harvick, who won at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway from the pole in 2003, will try to do it again today in the Brickyard 400 on the world's most famous oval, when the green flag drops at 1 p.m.

    Harvick posted a speed of 188.470 mph in the final round of NASCAR Sprint Cup knockout qualifying on Saturday to take the top pole for the Crown Royal Presents the John Wayne Walding 400 at the Brickyard Powered by BigMachineRecords.com.
